Right of way? …. denied !

LDA officials believe that installation of gates on roads and barriers and construction of walls blocking entry from one society to another was an illegal activity and was also banned by the Lahore High Court in past. However, there are several localities where this practice is going on unchecked. Model Town Society (MTS) is on top of the list as it closes all its roads in the night except two entrances. Other societies included Wapda Town, NESPAK, Canal View, TECH Society, PCSIR, Gulshan-e-Lahore, Nasheman-e-Iqbal, EME Society, Valencia Housing Society and etc which have blocked entry of public into their area by closing gates in the name of security. Khalid, a resident of Model Town Flats strongly criticized the government for its failure over the issue and said thousands of people were living in S, Q and R blocks of Model Town Extension, Pindi Rajputan, Thalla flats and other private colonies and all of them were deprived of right of the way. “Under which law the government has allowed MTS to block the entry of these thousands of people,” he questioned.
The ‘much-hyped’ drive of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) against encroachments and installation of illegal gates in various city localities has silently ended and it seemed that the authority has succumbed to political and other pressures.

Govt Model Town Hospital upgraded (in papers !)
When someone is right he is right but when it is wrong it can not be right.
previously i posted here one of the best things in model town. about Govt Model Town Hospital
but recently when i visited the hospital i noticed that there are many things wrong, Like doctors having changed attitudes, long long tea breaks, more and more rooms locked, more and more on-duty persons outside talking to someone, more and more med.-rap visiting, more scoldings to poor patients to be more patient, dirty floors, medicine shortage. On the other side, Dentist and his lady assistant has become even more impatient towards visitors. only like to do simple things like xrays or tooth removal.
There is problem in evening shift too, duty staff is missing and a kid is seen doing the job instead. seems evening shift is for a bonus income only.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has notified the up gradation of the Government Model Town Hospital to the level of a tehsil headquarters hospital.
Government Model Town Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Tariq Ramzan said on Sunday that the upgrade of the hospital allowed for medical specialization and general surgery facilities to be made available to the general public. He said that 10 private rooms, along with 40 to 60 beds, would be available at the hospital in addition to accommodation for class-IV and gazetted officers.
Dr Tariq said that the Building Department had already started a feasibility study and preparation design of the hospital. He said that the Government Model Town Hospital had been serving as vaccination headquarters of Gulberg Town, vaccinating thousands of children every year. The hospital is also providing ECG, ultrasound, gynea, dental, children ward, eye and ENT facilities on Rs 1 receipt, in addition to lab facilities on nominal charges, he added. Medical specialists and dermatologists also examine patients in the hospital every Monday.
Highlighting the performance of the hospital, the MS said that the hospital had provided free medical care to 56,000 children last year and 46,000 children from January to November during the current year. The Model Town Society established the Government Model Town Hospital in 1935 as a dispensary and the Punjab government took control of it in 1985. app
