MTS Central Park contractors overcharging visitors
Contractors of the Central Park in Model Town Society (MTS) have started overcharging all residents on parking fee, entry ticket fee and prices of commodities, Daily Times learnt.
The Central Park administration have removed all boards that showed the parking fee for different types of vehicles and the entry fee for people of different ages. Similarly, the stalls established at the park are overcharging visitors on commodities, including juices, cold drinks, bakery products, food items, tea, coffee and sweets. A visitor to the park, Zainab, said that the park administration was looting the visitors. She said that she was a resident of the MTS and a regular visitor of the Central Park. “I regularly come to the park for a walk in the evening and I park my car in the parking lot but they always demand Rs 10 as parking fee, despite the fact that the parking fee announced by the MTS administration is Rs 5 for cars. When I ask them to show the rate list of the parking fee, they say that they sent the boards for paint job,” she said, adding that they stopped overcharging her since she threatened to lodge a complaint against them in the society office.
Vice-president: MTS VP Nawab Tahir said that there were around 18 parks in the society to facilitate the local residents, and the administration dealt with the contractors if the citizens reported mismanagement. “We always take action if we receive reports regarding any kind of mismanagement, but the problem is that people try to handle the contractors themselves,” he said. He was of the view that the administration had strictly warned the contractors to display the rate list of everything, including the parking fee, the entry ticket fee and the prices of commodities being sold in the park. Forced Eidi ? i am sure they get their inspiration from MTS president Colonel (r) Tahir Kardar.
They have the right to plunder because they are doing so much good
