The City District Government Lahore (CDGL), in its February 18 elections contingency plan has declared the polling stations of model town as ‘sensitive’ among 247, across the nine divisions of the district.

On the condition of anonymity, a CDGL official told Daily Times on Wednesday the polling stations had been declared ‘sensitive’ on the basis of expected riots among the supporters of various candidates.
He said the CDGL had formulated the plan for smooth and peaceful elections. He said, “The plan also contains information regarding the security arrangements.” The plan was also a compendium of general statistics, functions, human resource deployment, transportation/communication plan and directory of important telephone numbers.There were total 24 sensitive polling stations in City Division, 28 in Ravi Division, 24 in Iqbal Town Division, 35 in Civil Lines Division, 7 in Cant Division, 37 in Mughalpura Division, 33 in Saddar Division, 27 in Model Town Division and 32 in Kot Lakhpat Division.
